The Times Education Commission: Rethinking Education
Earlier this year, The Times announced the setting up of its Education Commission, to examine the future of education in light of the Covid-19 crisis, declining social mobility, new technology and the changing nature of work. With a wide-ranging brief incorporating 10 key areas as its frame of reference, and taking expert evidence from leading figures from the worlds of business, science, culture and the arts, as well as politics and education, the commission is chaired by The Times columnist Rachel Sylvester and publishes an interim report in January 2022. We join Rachel and commission members the former headteacher and author Anthony Seldon (The Impossible Office) the Cambridge Professor of Psychology Sarah Jayne Blakemore, and the businessman, philanthropist and Chair of the National Theatre Damon Buffini to hear about their findings so far.
This event will be available to watch on the #CheltLitFest player from 29 October 2021.
